STUBB CREEK FOREST, FOLLOWING THE DISCOURSE:
Daniel Edon: 07/01/26
Since Akwa Ibom State Government says that the Privy Council didn’t Award the Stubb Creek Forest to any community or group, then if at the event of creation of the proposed Obolo State, where will the Stubb Creek Forest be? Akwa Ibom State or Obolo State? That’s one.
Two, Without Eket and Esit Eket, can Akwa Ibom State Government lay claim to the Stubb Creek Forest?
When Eket and Esit Eket challenged the creation of Obolo State during the visit of National Assembly committee on State creation, why didn’t the State Government come to say that the Stubb Creek Forest doesn’t belong to them (Eket and Esit Eket)?
This is just the same strategy the Government of Obong Victor Attah advanced but failed. Attah said there’s nothing like Oil communities, that the Oil belongs to whole Akwa Ibom State.
At a Niger Delta Stakeholders meeting at Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, that this writer was invited by the then Secretary of the Federation, Late Obong Ufort Ekaette, alongside other Youths from the our Oil communities; President Obasanjo told Governor Attah bluntly that, if he says there’s no Oil communities in the State, then Akwa Ibom State is not an Oil Producing State and he can’t be talking about derivation funds?. He was booed by the Youths from Delta State that then Governor James Ibori came with🙄🙄.
Note that other State Governors from Niger Delta came with their oil community Youths, Attah came alone because he never recognized Oil Producing communities. Remember I said it was the Secretary to the Federal Government that invited us from the oil communities. Ask William Mkpa, now High Chief from Ibeno, Pastor Isaiah Abia, Victor Rex is late( may his soul rest in peace) from Esit Eket and Mkpisóng Emmanuel Mbong from Eket. I can’t remember the Onna person that was with us. I lie not.
Despite his level of education, Obong Victor Attah was so blinded with hatred for Ekid people so much so that he forgot that without the Oil communities, Akwa Ibom State can never be an Oil Producing State, in the same vein, if there’s no Oil Producing States, Nigeria can never be an Oil Producing Nation.
The Stubb Creek Forest first of all belong to communities/Local Government Area(s) before it can belong to the State. A State can’t be a State without its local government areas, A local government area can’t be a local government Area, without the villages etc…
It was late Sunny Okuson who sang the song tiled “WHO OWNS THE LAND… my Papa’s Land…
NOW THE BIG QUESTION: Which community(s) does the Stubb Creek Forest sits on?
The gods of the land and deities are waiting for an answer.
“Isóñg isóñg isóñg isóñg isóñg isóñg isóñg- udukobo…”
“Isóñg isóñg isóñg isóñg isóñg isóñg isóñg isóñg-adue ukot, akpa itong…”
Yak isóñg adot ukana..
