APC EKET URBAN 4 WARD LEADER PREDICTS SEAMLESS WIN FOR APC IN 2027 ELECTIONS.

The leader of Eket Urban 4, Pastor Victor Edon, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will win the 2027 elections in Akwa Ibom State effortlessly. He attributes this to Governor Umo Eno’s efforts to unite politicians from his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with the APC.

Pastor Edon made this statement during the APC’s statewide ward meeting, which took place on Friday, 30/01/26, across the 31 Local Government Areas of the State. He praised the Governor, Pastor Umo Eno PhD, for bringing people together, saying, “When the righteous is on the throne, the people rejoice.” He described the Governor as “Mr. Unity” and commended his inclusive approach to governance.

However, he expressed disappointment with Ward 4 Urban’s seventh position out of eleven wards in the party’s electronic registration exercise. He attributed this to inadequate sensitization and urged members to mobilize their families and friends to register with the party. He said the party insists on registration using National Identification Number (NIN) to know the exact number of genuine party members, a complete departure from the past practice where names were just written without proper identification but when it’s time for elections or party primaries, the people are no where to be found.

Hon. Akanimo Ayang Akanimo, a former House of Assembly member who recently joined the APC, shared similar sentiments, saying politics is about mobilization. “We will mobilize,” he said.

Former PDP Deputy Ward Leader, Monday Ben Akanimo, also lamented the low turnout at the meeting, citing poor sensitization. He emphasized that the Party needs many people, and so the Ward leadership will capitalize on the extension given by the Party at the National, to increase membership drive.

The monitoring team lead, Hon. Victor Henry noted that the meeting aimed to assess each ward’s strength and weaknesses in party registration exercise. He observed a leadership challenge between old and new APC members, which might affect membership drive. “As a pastor, the Governor understands that more members in the church means more offering, therefore more party members will translate to more votes for the party,” he said.

Hon. Henry assured PDP members looking to join the APC that they shouldn’t exercise any fear of non-integration, that they would be welcomed and given equal rights within 24 hours of joining.

Mr Edoho Tommey, member of the monitoring team scored the ward meeting at 70%, hoping that as the sensitization continues, improvement would be made.

A former councilor, Hon. Grace Ntuk, who recently joined the APC, pledged to mobilize support for the party. “I decamped to the APC the moment the Governor announced his defection,” she said, adding that she’s ready to tour churches and markets to win souls for the APC.

Others that spoke at the occasion includes the Leader of Eket legislative Council, Hon. Mrs. Joy Richard, the Ward Chairman and Bishop Etukudo.

Those in attendance were Hon. Udeme Jack, Special Assistants to First Lady designate, Personal Assistants to the Governor, former Ward Chairman, Emmanuel Etuk, aka Emman politics, Hon. Grace Ntuk, Hon. Joseph Charles, Supervisor and many others.
