AKWA IBOM GOVERNOR RATS OUT THE PLAN: MINISTERIAL BRIEFINGS TO SHAPE 2026 GOVERNANCE

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has launched a two-week ministerial briefing exercise, aiming to set the governance agenda, prioritize projects, and enhance service delivery across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

Addressing an enlarged Executive Council meeting at the Government House, Uyo, Eno described the briefing as “timely, strategic, and necessary” for consolidating achievements and aligning operations with his ARISE Agenda.

The Governor tasked Commissioners, Heads of Agencies, and Managing Directors to make concise, data-driven presentations, showcasing impact on staff and citizens. Eno emphasized accountability, coordination, and people-centered governance, stating that the exercise would deepen transparency and ensure governance outcomes remain results-oriented.

The first briefing session, scheduled for January 12, 2026, features presentations from Commissioners for Works, Humanitarian Affairs, Education, and Ibom Tourism Board. Eno urged Commissioners to mobilize residents for voter registration, noting that current turnout remains unsatisfactory.

Announcing plans for over sixty priority projects in 2026, alongside ongoing road construction, Eno directed contractors to fix potholes, especially in Uyo, as the dry season sets in. He stressed proactive duty discharge, warning excuses won’t be tolerated in 2026, a year of action and delivery.
