LET MERCY PREVAIL”: Afigh Esid Ekid Begs Gov. Umo Eno to Release Princess God’sown Udoito for Father’s Burial.

The President General of the United Esit Eket People’s Association, Afigh Esid Ekid Organization Worldwide, Hon. Mkpong Isangedighi, MNSE, Essang Emem Ekid Offiong, has appealed to Governor Umo Eno to forgive and release Princess God’sown Udoito, saying compassion should take precedence during her time of grief.

Isangedighi made the appeal on Wednesday, May 28, 2026, while addressing members and stakeholders at the Ekid People’s Union, EPU, Congress.

With emotion, the Afigh Esid Ekid leader described Governor Umo Eno as “a father and shepherd to the people,” stressing that forgiveness, mercy, and reconciliation are the heart of true leadership and Christian values.

He said that despite the issues surrounding Princess God’sown Udoito, her father’s death presents a moment for mercy. He urged the Governor to grant her freedom so she can give her late father a befitting burial.

Quoting Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” – Isangedighi reminded the gathering that no one is without fault. “Mercy must triumph over bitterness and division,” he added.

The Afigh Esid Ekid President General also used the platform to call on all sons and daughters of Ekid Nation to embrace peace and unity. He warned that political differences and personal interests must not destroy the shared identity of the Ekid people.

“Elections come and go, but Ekid remains. We must not allow political sentiments to create needless division among us,” he said.

He commended the EPU leadership, including President General Dr. Samuel Udonsak and Secretary Mkpisong Sir Bassey Dan Abia, KJW, for driving policies that promote good governance, peace, and sustainable development in Ekid land.

Isangedighi concluded by urging political leaders, elders, youths, and stakeholders across Ekid Nation to prioritize reconciliation, mutual respect, forgiveness, and love for the progress of the land.
