SISTERS IN SOLIDARITY: EKET WOMEN CELEBRATES END OF YEAR GET TOGETHER, BACKS TINUBU, ENO SECOND TERM BID.

EKET, Akwa Ibom State – In a resounding declaration of support, women from across Eket Local Government Area have pledged to deliver President Tinubu and Governor Umo Eno’s re-election victory in 2027.

The unanimous decision was made at the Eket Women End-of-Year Get-Together, held at the residence of Mkpisong Frank Archibong in Ikot Ibiok, Eket LGA.

Over 2,500 women, representing various political parties, gathered to reaffirm their commitment to Governor Eno and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Mrs. Bright Archibong PhD, wife of the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, led the charge, urging women to mobilise massively for the APC and Governor Eno, come 2027.

“We will stand firmly with our President Bola Tinubu and our amiable Governor, Pastor Umo Eno and deliver our votes overwhelmingly for their second term in 2027,” she declared, assuring that Eket women would remain steadfast and united in ensuring the duo’s re-election.

Mrs. Maryann Ita Tommey , wife of the Executive Chairman of Eket LGA, called for unity among women, stressing that Eket stands united behind Pastor Umo Eno and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. “As women, we must partner for progress, irrespective of party affiliations,” she said.

Eket -APC Chapter Chairman, Mr. Akwaukiriso Akanimo Akpan hailed Frank Archibong and Mr. Akaniyene Tommey as emerging leaders, adding that with the support of Eket women, the APC would soar to greater heights in the area.

Eket Executive Chairman Mkpisong Akan Tommey and State lawmaker Dr. Nsidibe Akata praised the women’s discipline, peaceful conduct, and steadfast promotion of Governor Eno’s ARISE Agenda at the grassroots.

Hon. Frank Archibong thanked the women, declaring 2026 a year of peace, progress, and fulfilment. He urged sustained support for Governor Eno and the APC, recalling the decisive role women played in past electoral successes in Eket.

“Their unity delivered the second-highest votes in the last election, a success largely driven by the dedication and mobilisation of our women. I urge you to give your full support to the Office of the First Lady, under the coordination of Mrs. Helen Obareki to enable her effectively continue and complete the noble initiatives laid down by the First Lady,” he said.

The event featured distribution of bags of rice, wrappers, and cash gifts to women across all parties. The meeting ended with prayers, songs, and a renewed commitment to peace, unity, and political mobilisation.

Over 2,500 women that attended the event were from various political parties, went home with bags of rice, wrappers, and cash gifts.
